Constitutional Court decided on 2.10.2014 - case No. I.ÚS 3216/13 about share custody and its importance. Case relates a man who moved from England to be with his children in share custody. The Court states that share custody is primary establishment and especially if the man even moved to Czech to be with his two children.

A new Civil Code and associated laws came into effect on 1 January 2014. The Family Act is incorporated into the New Civil Code, Act. No. 89/2012 Coll. Family law institutes are regulated in procedural way in Special Procedures Code, Act No. 292/2013 Coll.
